One of my great wishes, when it came to Budapest, was to visit one of the most unusual and unique cafes, Zoo Cafe Budapest. Given my love for animals, this cafe left an unforgettable experience and acquaintance with many small cute creatures shared with my best friend!
Okay, I have to admit that I was afraid of snakes, but cuddling with a little python was a game-changer!
I was impressed by the helpfulness of the employees and the care for the animals, and I felt that they all grew up together in that cafe. I changed my mind about some animals I was afraid of; their calmness and sweetness charmed me and became my favorites.
A large kingdom of small animals
You will be greeted by several cats who are, certainly always in the mood for a cuddle, and because of that I got the impression that they are the owners of the Zoo Cafe; well, they are small lions when we think about it.
Speaking of animals, you will meet rabbits, chameleons, lizards, hamsters, turtles, snakes, and tarantulas. You can see the list of 65 animals here Animals.
After you order your drink, waiters start the process of animal rotation. Each guest has the opportunity to cuddle with animals for some time. You get to know their name, characteristics and how you should hold them.
Animal Therapy
What I loved the most about this place was their mission. We are all aware that we live in a fast time and our life passes with more and more stress. The idea is that people who cannot have a pet in their apartment come to the cafe and hang out with various animals to cure a stressful day.
There is something called Animal therapy, and I experienced it firsthand there.
It has been proven that animals positively affect our mood, and because of that, I left full of energy.
You can organize parties and give vouchers
If you want to surprise your loved ones, family members, or friends and you know they love animals, you can give them a voucher worth 2,000, 5,000, and 10,000 forints.
Organizing birthday parties, children’s parties, and other events are possible.
Children can get to know the animals and all this with the help of zookeepers. The same keepers answer all questions about the animals and provide information about the behavior, nutrition, and needs of the animals.

When you want to visit this unique cafe, it’s essential to realize that you should make a reservation because the cafe works on the principle of appointment so that the animals are not burdened at once, and there is no crowding and noise.
