Is This A Santa’s Home?
The first thought that went through my mind when I first saw this place, was “Is this the home where Santa Claus lives?” I thought that only he could have so many elves, toys, snow globes, lights, and snowflakes that look real.
Located in Karaiskaki 17, Athina 105 54 near the Monastiraki area, this cafe is located in Monastiraki that also has amazing rooftop cafés with beautiful Acropolis views.
Let’s get back to Little Kook. As I got closer and closer, I noticed that people were drinking teas and coffees, eating pancakes, ice creams, and cakes, and I realized that it was not only one place but a whole street! Waiters had unique uniforms and the price of the desserts was 10e approx. Everything on the table from the menu to glasses is themed and unique.
Did You Know About Kallikantzaros?
You may not have known there are Christmas elves in Greece called Kallikantzaros or creatures of the night. According to Wikipedia: Kallikantzaroi are believed to dwell underground but come to the surface during the twelve days of Christmas, from 25 December to 6 January. Btw, you can also find them here in some parts of the corners.
Little Kook Has Its Own Shop
If you see a particular decoration, you can buy it in the Little Kook’s shop of curiosities. I was especially enchanted by the grandmother holding a cat on her lap while drinking coffee and the beautiful ballerinas in soaring balls.
Choose for your loved ones too, because you’re sure you won’t be able to settle on just one or two things 😉
There’s Also A Santa Village, 350km From Athens
I mentioned that the Little Kook looked like Santa’s home from a distance, but you can also visit the City of Dreams – Santa’s Village in Drama, 350 km from Athens. It’s adapted for children, but adults can enjoy it too because we all feel like children when the holidays arrive. Greece has awesome things to offer for holidays!
Seasonal Decorations In Little Kook
Each season has its own decoration in this café.
Halloween decoration is spooky, the right word to describe the event’s atmosphere.
For those a little less brave, there are days of the year, during the summer, when the cafe is “sweet.”
In that period the decorations is called “Alice in Kookland”.
